Here's our first look at Shinji Mikami's final survival horror game--The Evil Within

Veteran game developer, Shinji Mikami, and Bethesda has finally shed light on the mysterious survival horror title 'Project Zwei'--now dubbed 'The Evil Within'. While no gameplay footage has been shown (at least none that I've noticed), I couldn't help but feel creeped out while watching this disturbing albeit well made trailer.

Gameplay information is scarce but based on the game's official site the development team will include guys from the Resident Evil remake (Gamecube). They will help create a very dark/haunting atmosphere few games offer today. Will this mean we will see the return of fixed camera angles and limited ammo? Who knows. That's why we need gameplay trailers!

After serving 20+ years of dev duty, Shinji Mikami has announced that this will be his final game. The famous developer pioneered the Survival Horror genre with the original Resident Evil and reinvented the wheel with Resident Evil 4's over the shoulder camera. After leaving Capcom, he went to produce games with Platinum Games (Vanquish) and Suda51 (Shadows of the damned).

It's sad to know that this will be his last game but then again we all have to throw in the towel some day. Good luck to you, sir. I will eagerly be awaiting the arrival of your game and return to the world of Survival Horror.

The Evil Within will haunt the PC, PS3, Xbox 360, and next gen consoles in 2014.
