If you think region locking the system was bad enough, Capcom went ahead and took it a steep further by region locking Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate Wii U's online mode. Thankfully heads have turned (most likely due to criticism) and an update will be released which should finally allow US/EU(which includes Arab region) compete with each other.
We're pleased to announce #MH3U will receive a software update shortly after release to allow cross region multiplayer between EU and US!To make the deal sweeter, the update will also players to switch the game to their gamepad, a feature I think all Wii U games should adopt in some form.

The same software update will allow you to play the game using your Wii U GamePad instead of a TV screen. And free DLC from time to time. YAY!

Finally we're also pleased to announce that there will be frequent free downloadable content released from the day of release. The only main gripe I have with Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate is the lack of a proper online mode for the 3DS version. In order to actually play online players will need use the Wii U's wifi mode. Honestly, I would only play this game online meaning the Wii U version is the only one way to go for me. Hopefully Monster Hunter 4 would finally give players freedom to play online wherever they go...or at least wherever there's a WiFi spot.
